ADAS Training

Course Details

The course is made up of three-four hours of classroom based learning, followed by workshop activity. Each candidate will then need to calibrate the ADAS on a vehicle, which will then be followed by a computer or paper based exam.

Course Content

This course will allow you to understand ADAS and how it operates.

All new vehicles from approximately 2016 onwards are fitted with ADAS. Therefore it is very important that ADAS is understood and a vehicle is calibrated correctly before leaving a workshop.

If a vehicle is worked on in a workshop and the work carried out affects anything ADAS related you may be required to produce a calibration certificate.

An example which shows that it is critical that ADAS is re-calibrated:

• If a vehicle is involved in an accident the insurance company may ask for the calibration certificate, if they feel that the ADAS calibration would have prevented the accident.
• If a garage cannot prove the system was calibrated the insurance company may hold the garage responsible for repairs and costs.
